6/22/2004
Jack Tinney and Meridith Osborne recently represented an accounting firm in a contract dispute with the West Virginia Bureau of Medical Services in a suit before the West Virginia Court of Claims.
The Plaintiff, a regional accounting firm, offered computer services which assisted the Bureau of Medical Services in analysis of its compliance with Medicaid billing codes. The Plaintiff sought tens of thousands of dollars in outstanding fees for services rendered, which were disputed by the Bureau of Medical Services.
A settlement was successfully negotiated on June 22, 2004, resulting in payment of 82%-83% of the fees sought, and the suit in the Court of Claims was dismissed.
